Warning:  Shameless plug coming….but first, some helpful information….

For those of you that haven’t heard, the Plutus Awards are a way to recognize Personal Finance Bloggers.  There are tons of categories, including Best New Personal Finance Blogger (Hint, Hint).

There are over 20 categories, so think about all the blogs you visit and show them a little nomination appreciation.

This is the 5th Annual awards ~ nominations are open until August 25th at 11:59 EST.  The awards are people’s choice (except for the Lifetime Achievement Award).  Voting is simple, go to the Plutus Awards site and nominate up to 3 blogs in each category.  Nominate as many allowed or as few as you want.  Some categories I couldn’t think of 3, but I certainly tried to spread the love among some of my favorite bloggers.

I would be honored if you would nominate Mom Makes Cents for the best new personal finance blog (there is that shameless plug I warned you about).  I appreciate the fact that there is a new blog category to give us just starting out a chance to be recognized.

The links in this post will take you to the nomination page where you can fill in your nominees.  Mom Makes Cents is already filled in the new blog category, I hope I’m not being too presumptuous but the site provides a way for you to generate that link!

Best of luck to all the nominees!  Awards will be presented at FinCon14 in New Orleans.

About Mom Cents

I'm a 30-something mom of a 2-year old son. Hubby & I have been married for going on 4 years. When I'm not immersed in activities at my church or chasing my son...I like to (attempt to) write about personal finance and parenting. Two topics which I'm definitely no expert ~ but I figure I have enough anecdotes to hold your interest!

I’ve definitely been impressed with your site and your drive – hosting carnivals and doing guest posts (I’ve done neither! I’m a bit scared!) and you have great content. You are certainly deserving of the award :-)

      Kirsten ~

Thank you for the words of encouragement and the vote of confidence! It is a little intimidating, but once you jump in you’ll find the community to be pretty supportive. The hardest part of hosting the blog carnival is filtering through the spammy posts. And guest posting — the hardest part is reaching out, but the worst that can happen is a no/no reply. If you’d ever like to guest post here just let me know! I don’t have tons of traffic, but maybe you’ll get rid of those “guest post jitters”!

I have also been very impressed with how much you have done in such a short time. I’m still supper excited to see a new comment on one of my posts and here you are guest posting and the like already! You have my vote!
